The inexplicable engine story begins six years ago.

Hu Bing, who lives in Xi'an, purchased a Toyota Crown Car in Xi'an Huatong Toyota Motor Service Co., Ltd. in 2005. When the vehicle was driven to 12,000 kilometers, Hu Bing accidentally discovered the problem of oil leakage in the engine.

As a result, Hu Bing, through consultation with Xi'an Huatong Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., obtained free maintenance services provided by Huatong Toyota on December 2, 2005. The service content is after the FAW Toyota Sales Company's permission, Huatong Toyota will replace the oil leakage engine with a new engine.

But the problem is far from simple. In June 2007, Hu Bing’s engine that had been replaced again showed another problem of oil leakage. The result of the accident was the same as last time. Three years later, in June 2010, Hu Bing went through a vehicle registration change process by chance, and discovered that the engine that was replaced for the second time in 2007 had no important information such as engine number and origin.

Therefore, Hu Bing suspected that Toyota used a used or refurbished engine during this maintenance. A reporter from China Enterprise News contacted Hu Bing, the party member of the case, trying to understand whether Toyota had such behavior.

In an interview with a reporter from the China Enterprise News, Hu Bing believes that the 4S shop does not have the right to replace the engine. It was replaced after Toyota's permission.
