On June 25, Yichun Silver Lithium New Energy Co., Ltd. announced that the company's first production line of 1-1.5 tons of high-purity lithium carbonate per day has been designed and constructed using a variable temperature carbonization process and was completed and put into operation in Yichun, Jiangxi Province. After 27 days of stable operation, 99.7% of the electronic grade lithium carbonate has been produced, which is 0.2 percentage points higher than the national standard. The 15 technical indicators such as calcium, magnesium and iron impurities have all reached the national standard.

According to Yin Yimin, general manager of Yinli Li Corporation, this production line uses Lithium mica from Yichun Ionite to prepare battery-grade lithium carbonate, which was commissioned in mid-May and produced qualified products. The leaching rate of lithium in production is above 95% on average, and the lithium recovery rate averages about 85%, which is 25% higher than the traditional process. The production and operation results show that this process can reduce the overall cost by about 1/3 compared with lithium carbonate mica roasting method, mixed alkali pressure cooking method, sulfate method and other lithium carbonate processes, and the cost per ton is reduced by more than 1,000 yuan compared with the original process.

The production line not only has low comprehensive cost for preparing battery-grade lithium carbonate, but also has significant energy-saving and emission reduction effects. The preparation of 1 kilogram of battery-grade lithium carbonate can consume about 0.7 kilograms of carbon dioxide, and a production line with an annual output of 300 tons can consume 210 tons of carbon dioxide in one year. In addition, all the tailings produced during the production process form high-value-added products, such as aluminum sulfate, aluminum potassium sulfate, calcium fluoride, high-purity silicon sand, and other waste acids, waste gas, and waste water. .

It is understood that Yichun is the world's largest reserves of lithium mine base, lithium oxide reserves reached 1.1 million tons, accounting for 31% of the country, the world's 12%, can be mined more than a century, the "lithium of Asia," the reputation. Silver Lithium Company and Yichun University jointly tackled the problem of the characteristics of lithium mica in the Yichun I tailings, and developed a new process of low-temperature lithium carbonate battery preparation by varying temperature carbonization method and obtained a number of patents. The comprehensive utilization of mica resources and lithium mica to prepare battery-grade lithium carbonate have created a low-cost, pollution-free process route.

Currently, Lithium-nickel lithium-ion battery grade lithium carbonate products have begun to supply Jiangte Motor, Yuanda Chemical and other companies. Xin Yimin said that Yinli Company will replicate and amplify the production line in the near future, and it is expected that the device will reach the 10,000-ton scale by the beginning of next year.
