5437 meters above sea level! Rotary construction new record

A few days ago, good news came from the Ali area of ​​Tibet. The Shanhe intelligent rotary drilling rig successfully set a new record of the highest altitude of 5,437 meters when participating in the reconstruction and expansion of a border defense road.

It is understood that this border defense road in the Ali area of ​​Tibet is a four-level highway with a total length of 80 kilometers. Due to the high altitude in the area, and many routes passing through the cliffs, 60 kilometers along the line need to use the rotary drilling rig to build anti-slide square piles. The design of the square pile is 2X4 meters and the hole depth is 52 meters.

According to the highway construction unit Tibet Tianshun Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd., the average elevation of the border defense road is above 5200 meters, and the highest altitude is 5437 meters. This altitude is the highest construction height of the known rotary drilling rig.

As we all know, construction machinery is constructed at high altitudes, and the biggest roadblock is oxygen deficiency. The higher the altitude, the thinner the oxygen will be. The most serious consequence is that the power system of the equipment will heat up rapidly during construction, resulting in a sharp drop in the overall efficiency of the equipment. In addition, the great temperature difference between day and night in high altitude areas will also affect the strength of structural components and other components. For hard frozen soil layers that are not normalized at high altitudes, specially configured frozen soil drilling tools and corresponding drilling processes must be used. Because the road is located at the Sino-Indian border, the roads to be repaired do not have any network signals, and communication equipment such as walkie-talkies is not allowed, which further increases the difficulty of construction.

After comparing and testing several brands of rotary drilling rigs, Tibet Tianshun Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd. finally chose to use Shanhe Intelligent Rotary Drilling Rig to undertake this difficult task. Shanhe Intelligent has four 220 and two 280 participating in the project construction. For the sand layer, the red sand rock layer and the frozen soil layer, three drill bits of 1 meter, 1.2 meters and 1.5 meters diameter are used respectively. The Shanhe intelligent rotary drilling rig entered the site at the end of April and officially started on May 1. The construction team overcame many difficulties and successfully completed the construction task on October 15 and successfully created a new construction record of 5,437 meters above sea level.
