New naming sequence for commercial vehicle engines in China

In recent years, when major engine plants in the field of commercial vehicles in China have vigorously launched various new engines to fight for market share, they have invariably reclassified the various models of engines and renamed them. This division and naming are completely different from those used by industry insiders, such as boreholes, to identify and find the basic performance and parameters corresponding to the model. It is extremely difficult, especially as a number of accessories. It has been difficult for enterprises to judge the sales volume and market trend of related accessories from the sales of engine models. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of the new model series of each engine plant, especially the finding of relevant control parameters (especially the number of cylinders, bore diameter, displacement, and power), has become an urgent need for insiders.

Dongfeng Limited Commercial Vehicle Engine Factory Engine Series

In the past, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd.'s commercial vehicle engine plant had a small installed capacity for high-power engines. However, with the rapid development of the commercial vehicle market, the number of matching engines for this plant has increased significantly and the market position has become increasingly prominent. From the fuel type point of view, this engine plant has a high starting point and is one of the few diesel engines and natural gas fuels in the country. It has a wide range of 2L-11L wide-range vehicle engine manufacturers. At present, its comprehensive annual production capacity has been increased to more than 200,000 units, and its product power covers 90 to 300 kW. The emissions meet the national III standard and some products can reach the national IV level.

Dongfeng DCI11 diesel engine based on Renault technology

Dongfeng DCI11 diesel engine is a high-power energy-saving intelligent engine with independent intellectual property rights. It is a Dongfeng DCI11 diesel engine that is based on the digestion and absorption of Renault technology and carries out secondary development based on the characteristics of the Chinese market and customer requirements. The engine's emissions have reached the national IV level, and the minimum fuel consumption is 190g/kWh, which has created the lowest domestic record and the whole machine life can reach 800,000 km. The engine is the main model of the Dongfeng competition for 11~12L displacement, and its outstanding performance in Dongfeng Tianlong has been recognized by the market (see Table 1).

Dongfeng natural gas engine

Dongfeng Limited Commercial Vehicle Engine Plant also conducted in-depth and extensive research on gas-fueled engines (liquefied petroleum gas and natural gas), and developed a series of fuel gas, energy-saving and environment-friendly engines. At present, its natural gas engines are widely used in the fields of city buses, trucks, city cleaners, etc., and are good suppliers of gas engines for market operation.

Dongfeng Company once undertook the research and development project of electronically controlled single fuel CNG bus engine in the National Science and Technology Key Project of the National Science and Technology Ministry. The EQDN series of single fuel electronically controlled natural gas engine developed by the Ministry of Science and Technology gained good dynamic performance. Economical, can meet the national III or above emission requirements. From 2004 to 2007, LNG engines were developed on the basis of CNG engines, which are now widely used in the market. At the same time, with the increasingly stringent requirements of emission regulations, the plant has made significant progress in the development of EQDN series electronically controlled country IV and above models (see Table 2).

Dongfeng EQ4H diesel engine

Dongfeng EQ4H diesel engine is another series diesel engine independently developed by Dongfeng. It adopts an electronically controlled high pressure common rail fuel system with 4 valves per cylinder, supercharged air-cooled air intake system, and rear gear drive. The model has a power range of 104 to 147 kW, which ensures that the product life exceeds 800,000 km, and the emissions meet the national III and national IV standards (see Table 3).

Dongfeng Fengshen EQD6105 Series Diesel Engine

Dongfeng Fengshen EQD6105 series diesel engine uses electronically controlled monomer pump injection technology. Its technical feature is that the low swirling air intake system is used to optimize the combustion system of the engine. The use of a constricted small platform squish piston has improved the combustion system of the engine. At the same time, in order to improve the reliability of the model, the piston has also adopted the oil injection cooling method. Due to the use of a small number of small holes with small holes and unequal nozzles, the emission of engine exhaust gas is greatly reduced (see Table 4).

North China Diesel Engine's Engine Series

The diesel engine series of North China Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. is mainly used for the introduction of German Deutz products. Unlike the models of other commercial vehicle engine plants in China, some models of Huachai employ V-shaped structures. At present, many large trucks, luxury buses and tractors represented by the North Mercedes-Benz and Shaanxi Auto are all equipped with the engines of the Huachai Company.

In China, the diesel engine manufacturers that introduce Deutz products on a large scale are mainly Huachai and Dachai – now Deutz FAW (Dalian) Diesel Engine Co., Ltd., in which Huachai introduced models with high displacement and power. BF6M1075C water-cooled diesel engine is a product of Huachai's introduction of German Deutz company license. The model V-type structure, four valves, 12L displacement, and the use of internal oil channels, internal waterway structure, so that fewer external diesel engine piping, reducing the potential for failure.

The TCD2015V06 water-cooled diesel engine is equipped with Bosch's electronically controlled monomer pump to meet the requirements of the national III emission standard and has the potential for national IV emission design. The diesel engine 12L displacement, power 250 ~ 360kW.

In recent years, low-speed high-torque has become a new selling point for diesel engines, and it has also become the focus of new diesel engine product development. TCD2015V06 diesel engine torque reserve more than 30%, up to 45%, reduce the number of shifts in the truck during the drive, reduce the driver's labor intensity and the cost of the selected transmission, and to make the vehicle load capacity stronger to meet the requirements of climbing grade.

The HC4132 water-cooled diesel engine is an in-line four-cylinder engine. It adopts a four-valve and electronically controlled monomer pump technology to increase the balance device, making the engine more powerful and more stable in operation (see Table 5).

FAW Jiefang Wufang Diesel Engine Factory Engine Series

FAW Jiefang Automobile Co., Ltd. Wuxi Diesel Engine's engine is divided into trucks, passenger cars, construction machinery, agricultural, power plants, ships and other types. Xichai's current engine products have formed a series of six platforms, namely W (Fuwei), X (Conway), K, F, L (Aowei) and N (Aoba), with power coverage of 46 to 310 kW. The engines for tin cars are divided into truck-specific series and bus-dedicated series. Compared with the truck series, the bus-specific series engine is mainly based on the emission standards of some models that have reached the national IV and are mostly natural gas engines.

The L series used to be a replacement high-power diesel engine invested by FAW Group. From the design point of view, in order to reduce noise, the L series adopts a drum-shaped helical gear structure design, which increases the smoothness and reliability of gear transmission and reduces gears. Transmission noise. At the same time, a sound absorbing shell is arranged outside the intake manifold of the engine to reduce the noise on the intake side of the engine. From the development process point of view, Xichai successfully developed the CA6DL series and increased the emission standards of the series to China III. After cooperating with the release of the sixth-generation truck J6, Xichai has developed more power. The N series diesel engine has a displacement of 12.5L, and has a place in the forest of high-power diesel engines. According to the analysis, 11 to 12L is the next displacement competition zone for commercial vehicle engines, and the models of each company in this segment are intensive. CA6DN series diesel engine is jointly developed by FAW Technology Center and FAW Xichai. Its main features are double water jackets and four-valve cylinder heads. It enjoys patented cooling method (single-cylinder, one-cover double water jacket, which ensures the engine under high heat load. Reliable work, high rigidity structural design, can meet the working requirements of high burst pressure (see Table 6).

Weichai engine series

Weichai engines are also divided into two major series: trucks and passenger cars. The main platforms of their trucks and S-vehicle engines are Steyr, focusing on WD and WP (blue engine). The WD615 is the basic model of Weichai. The more power developed by this company based on this foundation, the better response from WDl2 in the truck market is better, and Shaanxi Automobile, North Benz, and Futian are the exceptions. The certification model is to liberate tractors. The amount of supporting materials has increased in the course of study and development, and this year has seen a significant increase in the market share of liberated high-powered traction horses. The Weichai WP State III model, the Blue Engine Series, is sought after by the market. In the country's Model III, which has practically made only large power stages, WF is the most practical and most reliable. It is worth mentioning that the newly launched N series of Weichai in the WP village model will reduce the rating to 1900 rpm, and the users have reflected a great improvement in economy, power and reliability. The work of the Weichai III WP series has progressed rapidly. Currently, there are WPlON, WPl2N and other products. Among them, WPl2N is a model jointly developed by Weichai Europe R&D Center, AVL, and Bosch, and it is jointly developed with international excellent component suppliers. During the long process of research and development, the WPl2N series engine has passed more than 80,000 hours of rig tests and a total of 5 million kilometers of pavement tests over a three-year period. It passed the limit tests such as the plateau, high temperature, and cold regions. Adaptability and reliability should not be a problem.

At present, except for the 226B, the 226B has four cylinders, and the remaining models are all six cylinders (see Table 7).

Yuchai Engine Series

Yuchai is the most widely used and most complete diesel engine manufacturer in China. The company launched the YC6L series of commercial vehicle engines with national IV and V emission standards. It is used on buses in Beijing and other places. The first car was introduced. The diesel engine YC4W has been supplied for Chang'an and other models. In addition, among the current major diesel engine plants, Yuchai is deeply involved in the research and classification of engine specialization, and has formed its own unique model matching theory. For commercial vehicles, the use of high frequency, high strength, high durability requirements on the engine. Among them, overloading of trucks is widespread, and power is a prominent requirement for truck consumers. Passenger cars basically have no overload phenomenon, and their requirements for power are not high. However, they require high levels of noise, vibration, and other effects on the comfort of the engine. Therefore, Yuchai divided its engine model into:

Bus engine - low average speed, frequent start-up, idling, neutral taxiing, bus stops, speed increase, generally about 30 seconds to upgrade to the highest level, low engine speed, focusing on fuel economy.

Special engines for highway passenger cars - often operating in high-grade positions, requiring high-grade high-end power factor, high reliability requirements, low noise, and high comfort. Specially used four-valve technology.

The diesel engine for highway versions of trucks is mainly characterized by the medium and high speed of diesel engines. It is necessary to optimize the combustion management and noise management in high speed diesel engines, and try not to sacrifice the original low speed performance of diesel engines.

Yuchai has determined its own technical route according to the special requirements of customers in different markets. For those markets that consider high-speed performance and power indicators, select engines with smaller emissions, reduce intake turbulence, optimize matching turbochargers, and optimize matching. Oil pump, nozzle. Markets that consider low speed high torque and acceleration performance increase the engine's displacement to improve the torque reserve and optimize the transient response characteristics of the supercharger. For markets that need to take into account low-speed performance, select a larger-displacement engine, reduce the intake turbulence, optimize the matching booster, and optimize the matching of the oil pump and the nipple (see Table 8).
