"Twelfth Five-Year" Development of Domestic Construction Machinery Parts

In 2010, the construction machinery industry in China got rapid development, but at the same time it also promoted the development of the parts and components industry. However, the technical level of the domestic core components can not keep pace with the development of the whole machine. At the beginning of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, under the promotion of state policies, the development of parts and components for the construction machinery industry has a long way to go.

For a long time, the key factor restricting the development of China's construction machinery industry has been the dependence on imports of core components. At present, a number of domestic construction machinery brands have adopted foreign core components. The Cummins brand is the majority of the power configuration, and most of the hydraulic components are Japanese, Korean or German brands. With the advent of the new round of development of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, the country’s core parts and components will become the top priority for China’s construction machinery industry.

The Implementation Plan for the Revitalization of Machinery Basic Components Industry issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology clearly states that it is necessary to accelerate the breakthrough in the development of bottlenecks in key parts and components and continuously meet the needs of equipment and strategic emerging industries in various fields. Although the domestic construction machinery industry recognizes that the breakthrough of key components at this stage and in the future will be an important force for the construction machinery industry, the current situation is not optimistic. At the same time, foreign-funded enterprises are also constantly injecting into this industry. The benefits of foreign-invested parts and components not only provide them with huge profits, but also bring benefits to many foreign construction machinery companies.

The industry expects that by 2015, the sales revenue of China's construction machinery industry will reach 900 billion yuan, with an average annual increase of more than two digits. In terms of exports, by 2015 China's export of construction machinery products will reach about 20 billion U.S. dollars, becoming a world's largest exporter. Under the excellent situation of rapid development of the construction machinery industry, parts and components of the Chinese construction machinery industry urgently need to increase the added value of technology and further increase the international competitiveness of domestic brands.
