China Leather Industry Association reported that after the anti-dumping law was lifted in China in early April, European buyers began to shift the place where shoe orders were signed back from former Southeast Asian countries to China, mainly Dongguan.
However, shoemakers in Dongguan are still cautious about accepting increased orders because soaring production costs have forced their prices and value-added taxes to increase.
Zhang Hongrong, general manager of Dongguan Anyang Shoes Co., Ltd. informed the association that the company received more orders from its customers than last year. He also stressed that this month they received many high-priced orders from buyers in Germany, Italy and Vietnam.
Gold and gold shoe factories also said that orders from European countries have increased, and 70% of their products are exported to the European market.
