Sinopec manufacturers invest in new projects

According to reports from professional US media, US petrochemical producers began investing and building new projects after more than 10 years of silence, mainly due to low-cost shale gas development. It is said that over the past 10 years, petrochemical companies in the United States have hardly increased their new production capacity.

Recently, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company announced that it will conduct a feasibility study of a new ethylene cracker, and Ineos is also brewing a new ethylene oxide plant with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons. Chevron Phillips is working on a new 1.1 million tonne/year ethane cracking ethylene plant and multiple sets of derivative production facilities along the Gulf of Mexico. The company stated that the new project will be completed in 2016-2017. Chevron Phillips currently operates a total of 3.55 million tons/year of ethylene capacity in Texas.
