Wafangdian is a hot spot for the development and opening up of coastal economic belts in Liaoning Province. The “Wafangdian model” marked by large-scale planning, large projects, large investments, large fleets, and great harmony is being clamored and promoted throughout Liaoning Province.

Wafangdian is the birthplace of China's bearing industry and is known as the "bearing hometown". In 2007, it was awarded the title of "China Bearing Capital" by China Machinery Industry Federation. Since the Wazhou Company was founded in 1938, the Wafangdian bearing industry has gone through nearly 80 years of glorious history and created a unique bearing culture.

Wafangdian successively produced China's first industrial bearings, the first nuclear industrial bearings, the first set of tank inducer bearings, the first set of railway freight train axleless box bearings, and the first large-scale tracking telescope bearing, which helped build Harbin. Bearing companies, Luoyang Bearing Factory and other key players in China's bearing industry have made outstanding contributions to national industrial development and national defense construction. Wazhou Group is the largest bearing company in China, ranking eighth in the world's bearing industry.

After several generations of unremitting efforts, Wafangdian has now established a relatively complete bearing industrial system with a reasonable production layout, complete industry categories, and large and small enterprises. In the region, it has the largest bearing testing and testing center in the country, a national-level bearing technology center, and a world famous brand represented by “ZWZ”. The products cover 9 types and are sold in more than 80 countries and regions at home and abroad. Wafangdian has 605 bearing manufacturing enterprises and employs more than 50,000 people. In 2010, the bearing industry realized an output value of 24.8 billion yuan, accounting for 19.7% of the industrial output value of Wafangdian City, and accounting for 20.3% of the total output value of the national bearing industry. The scale ranks first in the country. In the first half of 2011, the bearing industry realized a production value of 14.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.4%.

Wafangdian is an important R&D and production base in China's bearing industry, and is the largest bearing industrial cluster in China. Since the reform and opening up, relying on the pulling of 9 major bearing groups, the bearing industry has shown a clear trend of industrial agglomeration. Wafangdian has more than 100,000 employees engaged in bearing industry sales, logistics, and processing services, accounting for 16.3% of the total number of employees in the same industry in the country. Wafangdian's strong human resources have promoted the upgrading of the industry and technological progress, and bearing products have shown a trend toward high-end development.

In 2009, when Premier Wen Jiabao visited the Wazhou Group, he proposed that the Wazhousha Group should advance to the top three in the world. By 2015, the industrial output value of Wafangdian Bearing Industry will reach 50 billion yuan, its market share will account for more than one-third of the country's total, and the related industrial output value will reach more than 100 billion yuan, becoming the "Liaoning only, China's largest and world famous" bearing manufacturing base. And the country's major equipment manufacturing base.

In order to achieve its ambitious goals, Wafangdian is proceeding from improving industry concentration, creating a complete industrial chain and strong industrial advantages, highlighting the industry leading role of the Wazhou Group, integrating industrial parks, and building on existing bearing production patterns. We will focus on building a more rational 100 square kilometer bearing manufacturing industry belt and plan a blueprint for the development of the bearing industry.

The ZWZ trademark of the tile axis is recognized as a well-known trademark in China. More than 16,000 kinds of bearing products all have independent intellectual property rights.

In 2005, the State Council proposed to focus on the development of 16 major technological equipment in the key fields of the equipment manufacturing industry. Through the upgrading of bearing products and localization, it will bring direct economic benefits of more than 20 billion yuan to China's industrial enterprises each year. At present, the “Watang Group high-end manufacturing industrial park” with a total investment of 6 billion yuan and supporting bearings for 12 industrial equipment fields is under construction.

Waxshaft has a bearing product testing and testing center approved by the National Large Bearing Engineering Research Center, National Technical Center and National Laboratory Accreditation Committee, and its comprehensive technology development capability ranks in the top 30 in the national machinery industry.
