Brake oil principle
The main cylinder that generates pressure from the front brake is the main cylinder from the base of the brake handle. When the brake handle is held, the internal piston of the main cylinder exerts pressure on the brake oil. This pressure is transmitted to the piston in the brake caliper through the brake pipe, and the pressed piston presses the brake block against the disk.
This configuration moves "Pascal's Law - the pressure applied to the liquid to be sealed is transmitted from the liquid in all directions." The area of ​​the piston in the caliper is larger than the area of ​​the piston in the main cylinder, thereby greatly increasing the operating brake handle. Force.

With this configuration, even a less powerful rider can generate a large enough braking force to stop a heavy motorcycle.

Why should I change the brake fluid?

In the maintenance of the vehicle, when it comes to brand, engine and fuel consumption, every car owner can say a few words. When it comes to brake oil, there are very few people who really know.

Then why do we regularly check and replace the brake oil? The professional explanation is that after the brake fluid is used for a period of time, there will be a decrease in boiling point, pollution and varying degrees of oxidative deterioration.
Brake fluid itself is a very stable pressure oil, chemicals and high temperatures are not easy to deteriorate, but there is a quirk that it will absorb the moisture in the air. The most headache is the brake hydraulic system, which must be connected to the atmosphere outside the system to make it work properly, so the oil can lid will have a vent.

In this way, the brake fluid will absorb the moisture in the air, such as not completely cleaned the water when washing the car, the humid air in the rainy season, etc., may be absorbed by the accumulated time, and the brake system is long-term or urgent. During the braking process, the temperature of the brake oil rises rapidly. At high temperatures, the moisture is converted into a gas, so that the brake function is reduced.

Popularly speaking, liquids are incompressible, just like we can't buy compressed water on the market? But the gas can be compressed, you can easily buy small jars of compressed air like insecticides, air fresheners, etc. in the supermarket.

Just a small bottle of stuff can at least fill the entire compartment of a regular car. In other words, the air of the entire compartment of a regular sedan can only be loaded with such a small can if it is compressed.


Imagine if there is a certain amount of air in your brake system, whether the air in the system will be compressed when you pinch or step on the brakes, assuming a "healthy" system filled with brake fluid The dynamic system generates a braking force of 10 when the brake lever is pinched.
