Installation location and height of flammable and toxic gas detectors

The flammable gas detector is a fixed gas detection and alarm device. It can be installed in a suitable position to monitor the concentration of nearby flammable gas for a long time, and alarm in case of leakage to avoid casualties. Use a gas detector first to properly install it.
Combustible gas detector
First, the location of the combustible gas detector installation
According to the relevant regulations, the installation position of the detector is determined according to the density of the detected gas and the direction of the wind, but the detector should be prevented from being installed in places where the air flows too much.
Under normal circumstances, the indoor space combustible gas detector is installed within 7.5m from the release source or the horizontal distance between the two detectors is within 15m; the detection radius of the toxic gas is 1m. For indoor spaces that are too large or have a large number of ventilated areas, the detectors should be placed in an outdoor condition.
When the flammable gas detector is installed outdoors, it should be placed on the upwind side of the annual minimum frequency wind direction of the flammable gas release source, and the distance from the release source should not be greater than 15m; the detector is arranged at the annual minimum frequency wind direction of the flammable gas release source. On the leeward side, the distance from the release source should not be greater than 5 m, and the toxic gas should be less than 2 m.
Second, the flammable gas detector installation height
The installation height of the combustible gas detector should be installed according to the specific gravity of the combustible gas. For the detection of combustible gas that is heavier than air, the height of the detector should be 0.3 to 0.6 m from the ground. When detecting a combustible gas that is lighter than air, the height of the detector should be 0.5 to 2 m higher than the release source. For gases such as hydrogen, it should be installed at the top of the roof.
Note: The gas density is greater than 0.97kg/m3 (in the standard state), which is considered to be heavier than air. The gas density is less than 0.97kg/m3 (in the standard state), which is considered to be lighter than air.
The above is the relevant regulations for the installation position and height of the flammable gas detector. It is necessary to be clear that we must install the equipment according to the correct method, otherwise we will not be able to effectively protect our lives and property.
