Recently, Xiamen Xinglin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and Jimei District Government signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Establishing a Quality and Safety Demonstration Zone for Export Vehicles and Parts, and nearly 40 related enterprises attended the launching ceremony. This means that the province's first export passenger car and parts quality and safety demonstration zone was launched in Jimei. There are currently 3 bus manufacturers and nearly 70 related supporting factories in Xiamen, with an annual output value of more than 30 billion yuan. In 2012, Xiamen's total exports of passenger cars and parts and components exceeded US$400 million, a record high.
