According to the plan, with the promotion and application of new energy vehicles, the city will accumulatively save 75,000 tons of gasoline and diesel, reduce 100 tons of particulate emissions, and emit 200,000 tons of greenhouse gas (carbon dioxide) emissions, covering public transportation, business, corporate, sanitation, and logistics. In fact, in recent days, the enthusiasm of local governments to promote new energy vehicles has been exceptionally high. For instance, the "Tianjin New Energy Vehicle Promotion and Application Implementation Plan (2013-2015)" proposes that by 2015, the city will promote the application of new energy vehicles to 12,000 vehicles in eight areas. Among them, in the private sector, 500 vehicles for private use were marketed. The recently promulgated "Administrative Measures for the Control of the Total Amount of Passenger Cars in Tianjin" specifically stipulates that purchases of new energy vehicles can directly apply for a license plate, which is not limited to purchase. Tianjin City will implement a matching subsidy according to the 1:1 ratio of central government subsidies. The cumulative total of the two subsidies will reach 114,000 yuan, which will further promote the sales of new energy vehicles.

In Shandong Province, Zibo City, Linyi City, Weifang City, and Liaocheng City became the second batch of cities for promoting new energy vehicles. In addition to the first batch of Qingdao cities that have been listed as pilot sites, the number of pilot cities in Shandong Province has increased to 5, accounting for 12.5% ​​of the national total.
