Looking at the foreign truck load limit: the maximum number of trucks

At 9:00 on June 11th, the six major highways in the eastern part of Guangdong Province - Guangdong, Anhui, Huihe, Huishen (Yantian), Shenzhen-Shanxi, Jiepuhui, and Yantai - refused to increase the total weight of goods. Tons of illegally overloaded vehicles entered. This means that another province has started to implement a total weight limit of 55 tons.

According to China's determination of "confirmation criteria for vehicle overloading and overloading," the total cargo weight of two-axle vehicles must not exceed 20 tons. For each additional axle number, the maximum load limit is increased by 10 tons, but for vehicles with 6-axis and 6-axis or more, their vehicles are The total weight of the goods must not exceed 55 tons. At the same time, when all vehicles are loading cargo, they must satisfy three conditions at the same time: First, the total cargo weight should not exceed 55 tons (including 55 tons); second, the single bearing weight should not exceed 10 tons (including 10 tons); If the load is less than 10 tons, the loading capacity shall not exceed the approved loading quality.

In addition, the design of Chinese highway bridges allows a maximum weight of 55 tons. For the indiscernible large items that really need to be transported by road, it is necessary to apply for over-limit transportation permits, and measures such as reinforcement of bridge culverts and escorts shall be taken to ensure safety.

In the previous issue, this newspaper reported that “the United States intends to increase the maximum allowable weight of heavy commercial vehicles on the Federal Highway to 45 tons.” Although the upper limit of the load has only increased by 9 tons, it has attracted many controversies. From this point of view, foreign countries attach great importance to the upper limit of truck load. In this issue, the "Commercial Automotive News" reporter has sorted out the upper limit of truckloads for foreign trucks.

Canada is different in spring and winter

With regard to the upper limit of the truck load for expressways, the latest Canadian regulations were implemented in 1999. However, specific to different regions, the provisions are different.

Saskatchewan Expressway limits the loading capacity from the aspects of road grade, tire size, and wheelbase. Determine the maximum load, first based on the tire load capacity. In terms of tire size, the bearing capacity per millimeter of diameter is 10 kg, and the load capacity of a 280 mm diameter tire is approximately 3 tons.

It is worth noting that in Canada, there is a difference between the maximum load of trucks in the spring and winter seasons. From November 16 of that year to March 14 of the following year, Canada has imposed a winter weight limit.

Specifically, the upper limit of the 5-axle full-load truck on the first-class expressway is 42.45 tons, the second-third-level road is 36.4 tons, the first-grade highway in winter is 45.25 tons, and the second-and-third-grade road is 43.5 tons. The 6-axle full-load truck has a maximum load of 50.35 tons on the first-grade expressway, 42.7 tons for the second- and third-grade highways, 53.25 tons for the first class highway in winter and 51.5 tons for the second and third grade highways. The upper limit of the 4 axle semi-mounted trucks on the first-class expressway is 31.6 tons, and that of the second- and third-tier highways is 28.2 tons. In winter, the maximum load on the first, second and third class highways is 33.5 tons. The upper limit of 5 axle semi-mounted trucks on the first-class expressway is 39.5 tons, 33.5 tons for the second and third-grade highways, and 41.5 tons for the first, second and third-grade highways in winter.

The United States depends on the number of axles

The United States of Texas is based on the number of axles in terms of the number of trucks. It is based on the formula: W=500 [(L*N/(N-1)) +12N+36] (where L represents the length of the vehicle and N represents the number of axles, where the length of the vehicle is in feet). For example, a 32-foot 3- to 7-axle truck has a maximum load of 27 tons, 29 tons, 30 tons, 32 tons, and 35 tons.

According to the state law, the maximum load of a single-axle vehicle cannot exceed 9 tons, the maximum load of a two-axle vehicle cannot exceed 15.4 tons, and the maximum load of a truck cannot exceed 36 tons.

EU countries implement unified

In Europe, the maximum load capacity of a truck is strictly in accordance with 96/53/EC, which was amended in 2002. The supplementary regulation is 2002/7/EC. However, the supplementary regulations only modified the size limit of the bus and did not modify the truck size and maximum load. Regulation 96/53/EC applies to M2 and M3 passenger cars (9 or more passenger cars) and N2 and N3 class trucks (12+ tons of trucks). It is understood that the regulation provides that the maximum load of trucks on the interstate highway cannot exceed 40 tons.

In Belgium, the maximum load capacity is limited to 43 tons and 44 tons depending on the type of suspension. In Switzerland, the upper limit of the maximum load capacity of trucks before 2000 is lower than that of other European countries. The maximum load capacity of trucks in that country cannot exceed 28 tons. After joining the European Union, Switzerland adopted the same maximum load capacity of 40 tons as the EU, but it increased the vehicle's tax rate on road damage, which is approximately between 90 and 200 euros.
