This year, the growth of commercial vehicle sales is mainly from Asia.

Volkswagen AG and Daimler AG announced on the 23rd that the continued strong economic growth in China, India, and Latin America and the increase in demand for commercial vehicles will offset the decrease in sales in the United States and Europe.

Due to the increasing demand for low-energy and high-environment-friendly models, VW, the largest car manufacturer in Europe, expects the company’s worldwide sales of commercial vehicles, trucks and buses to increase by 2.3% this year. Stefan Schaller, president of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Worldwide, said that automotive innovation will help mass commercial vehicle sales continue to grow next year. According to market research, the retail volume of commercial vehicles in China in August this year increased by 23%.

Daimler, the world’s largest producer of heavy trucks and buses, said that due to the good performance of developing countries, the company’s truck sales this year will also increase slightly. However, Andreas Renschler, head of Daimler's commercial vehicle division, said that due to the economic slowdown in Europe and the United States and the increase in raw material prices, the company’s sales of commercial vehicles next year are not optimistic.
