January 15, 2008 - Danaher Motion, the world's leading provider of motion control solutions, announced that its Thomson Super Ball Bushing® bearings are available in six metric sizes. 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 40mm and 50mm. These high-precision bearings have a coefficient of friction of only 0.001, allowing users to use smaller, lower-priced motors, belts, gears and ball screws when replacing high-friction plain bearings.
Most Thomson super metric ball bushing bearings are available for delivery on the same day or in the next day in North America and Europe. These bearings are ideal for new applications and can be replaced with older applications in a variety of sizes to meet the needs of competitive legacy applications.
Thomson super metric ball bushing bearings feature self-aligning capability up to 0.5 degrees and automatically correct for errors in bottom flatness or machining. With an acceleration of up to 150 m/s2, the bearing can be accelerated to 3 m/s without any consideration of the derating factor usually required for linear guides. It can be used in adjustable opening and closing structures. The double-sided wiper removes dirt, keeps the machine lubricated, and maximizes the machine's operating life. The lightweight, wear-resistant polymeric retainer and outer jacket reduce inertia and reduce noise.
