Amazon is preparing to reveal a brand new device that finally marks the entry of Amazon's online retail giant in the smartphone space. Amazon has already sent an invitation for the "new equipment unveiled" and speculations on June 18th. The company's long-awaited smartphone, with a 3D display interface, will finally see a bright day.
If video from Amazon is an online retailer betting on 3D gimmicks, it will cause waves in the highly competitive market. As reported in April, Amazon smartphones have designed the screen to be capable of displaying three-dimensional images without the need for customized 3D glasses. According to reports, mobile phones will use retina-tracking technology to embed four front-facing cameras, or sensors, and make some 3D images, similar to holograms. This will be a convenient feature and an opportunity that Amazon may need to stand out from the fierce competition. However, the smart phone market has little room for new entrants.
Amazon now has extensive experience in hardware, such as the Kindle e-reader KindleFire tablet and the recent TV set top box. However, smart phones will have some unique challenges, especially as it requires securing deals with U.S. carriers.
