Heavy oil suspended bed hydrogenation technology succeeded

Recently, the second phase of the industrialization test of the heavy oil suspension bed hydrogenation process carried out by PetroChina's Fushun Petrochemical Company's third oil plant has achieved breakthrough success and has been industrialized. According to expert analysis, this major breakthrough in refining technology has opened up new avenues for solving the processing and utilization of nearly 100 million tons of inferior heavy oil in China, with very significant social and economic benefits. This complete process has now obtained national invention patents and US invention patents.
In today's world, a large amount of heavy oil (including heavy oil) is mined, and the processing and utilization of high metal, high residual carbon and high sulfur heavy oil has become a worldwide problem. Traditional refining processes, such as heavy oil catalytic cracking and heavy oil fixed bed hydrocracking, are difficult to process. From October to November 2006, the third phase of the Fushun Petrochemical Company's third oil plant carried out the industrialization test of the second stage heavy oil suspension bed hydrogenation process technology. During the whole industrial operation process, the operation status of each main system of the test device was stable, the test achieved the expected effect of high conversion and low bio-focus, and a complete set of calibration data was obtained, and the test was a complete success.

Inferior heavy oil suspended bed hydrogenation technology is a major refining technology innovation project in which China relies entirely on its own strength to develop and possess all intellectual property rights. The core technology and main patent of the process are provided by China University of Petroleum (East China). China National Petroleum Corporation has coordinated and invested a large amount of development funds, from China Petroleum and Chemical Research Institute, China University of Petroleum (East China), PetroChina Fushun Petrochemical Company. Sinopec Engineering Construction Company and Tsinghua University, China University of Petroleum (Beijing), PetroChina Karamay Petrochemical Company, and Chinese Academy of Sciences Process Engineering Institute and other units completed together. This technology has been included in the “Priority of the Key Development Zones for High-tech Industrialization”.
