According to the Natural Gas Economic Research Institute of the Southwest Oilfield Company, by 2020, the use of natural gas in the province will reach 8 billion cubic meters, and the utilization of natural gas for vehicles will reach 800 million cubic meters, driving the total industrial output value of local governments to exceed 10 billion yuan.
The Provincial Department of Science and Technology actively promoted the pilot application of natural gas for vehicles, and approved the Yunnan Dingshi Xinji Energy Development Co., Ltd. to carry out the “Yunnan Natural Gas Extension and Application Demonstration Base Construction Projectâ€. The company is the provincial unit of science and technology "Yunnan vehicle natural gas (compressed natural gas CNG, LNG) promotion and application demonstration base project" bear the unit, is the province's first company with a full set of CNG, LNG conversion qualifications. It can provide power for small vehicles, and it can also provide power for high-powered trucks and coaches. A tank of 450ml of LNG can last about 500 kilometers. The use of natural gas as a power source for large-scale operating vehicles can save 80,000 yuan a year compared with burning diesel. Emissions of pollutants can be reduced by 80%.
Dingshi Xinji currently refits 1,291 taxis, 109 coaches, and 10 comprehensive law enforcement vehicles in Kunming City, accounting for 89% of the city's converted vehicles. It is a vehicle gas electronic tag and vehicle gas used by the Quality Supervision Bureau of Kunming City. The bottle use certificate specifies the registration and issuing unit.
It is reported that within two years, the company will invest 150 million yuan to modify 10,000 natural gas vehicles.
