According to a report given by the US Department of Energy at the end of last year, the penetration rate of LED lighting in the US market is only one, which shows that the US market has huge space. However, with the gradual maturity of LED lighting, international manufacturers have launched low-cost lamps to compete in the market, and overseas price competition has become fierce. From the perspective of export product categories, the export volume and value of LED lamps increased by 136.2 and 119.8 respectively, accounting for more than 10 of Zhongshan Electric's light source exports, showing a strong development momentum. From the statistical data, energy-saving lamps exports fell by 13.6 year-on-year. From the second half of last year to this year, the export of energy-saving lamps has been declining. Except for some countries such as Africa and Southeast Asia, there are still energy-saving lamps exported. The market is basically replaced by LED light sources. As the price of LED light sources and energy-saving lamps continue to approach, the export share of energy-saving lamps will continue to be squeezed by LEDs.
As a new industry in Jiangxi Nanchang High-tech Zone and even Jiangxi Province, the LED industry currently accounts for a small proportion of exports. However, in the first half of this year, the export value of LED lamps in Nanchang High-tech Zone has increased from US$85,000 in the same period last year to US$873,000, an increase of more than 10 times, making it the fastest growing export industry in Nanchang High-tech Zone.
The price has become a stumbling block In recent years, the price of LED lamps of international manufacturers has continued to fall. Osram, Philips and Cree have begun to push the LED lamps of $10. The distributors of these big factories in the United States are very strong, and some dealers hold even thousands of stores. They not only sell lighting products, but also electrician products. At present, the US government has launched 2 billion government subsidies for LED companies. Although the subsidy schemes vary from place to place, the intensity is very high. However, based on the price, the overall sales of the lamps of the Shangchao route are not very good overseas, and the growth rate is relatively slow compared to commercial lighting. In fact, in foreign markets, China's local LED lighting brands are not found overseas, and they all appear in various channels overseas in the form of OEM. A considerable part of the LED lamps sold by international companies such as Philips is also manufactured by domestic companies, so the cost is relatively low. However, the domestic LED lamps with tariffs and supermarkets are not sold at a price advantage. Their prices are almost the same as the prices of products sold by American LED manufacturers, and some are even higher. However, because many domestic enterprises are only OEM OEM exports, domestic manufacturers are not too concerned about the actual price of lamps and lanterns in overseas.
Simply relying on overseas exports is not the future development direction of the LED industry. It is more important to increase the research and development of core technologies and master the core advantages.
