Recently, the research group of molecular catalysis and technology research of the State Key Laboratory of Oxo Synthesis and Selective Oxidation of Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, after two and a half years of research, developed an ionic liquid as a catalyst, methanol and paraformaldehyde. The raw material synthesizes a new technology of clean diesel component polymethoxyformal (Internationally referred to as DMM3-8).
DMM3-8 is a new type of clean oil additive with an average cetane number of 76. The blending quality with diesel is better than that of ultra-low sulfur diesel. It can be added 10% to 20% in diesel. This additive can reduce exhaust gas pollution by more than 50%, and can greatly reduce the emission of nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide. It is an environmentally friendly fuel component for workers in the world.
China's current transportation diesel oil exceeds 120 million tons per year. If it is added in proportion to 15%, the annual demand for DMM3-8 will exceed 18 million tons. The new DMM3-8 technology based on coal-based raw materials developed by Lanhua has opened up a new way to develop clean energy technologies that replace China's superior coal resources with petroleum resources.
