Power station boiler plasma pulverized coal ignition device passed the identification

Organized by the Science and Technology Department of Anhui Province, China University of Science and Technology, Anhui Energy Group Co., Ltd. and Anhui Tenglong Electric Control Technology Co., Ltd., the “Power Plant Boiler Plasma Pulverized Ignition Device and Prototype” results appraisal meeting, in Hefei City Conference Room 5 on the 4th floor was successfully completed.

The appraisal meeting was presided over by Professor Yang Jiming, Executive Dean of the School of Engineering Science, University of Science and Technology of China. Vice President Wang Qunjing of Anhui University served as the chairman of the appraisal committee. Researcher Liu Baohua of the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tao Yingdong of Anhui Electric Power Design Institute served as the deputy director. The members of the Council also include experts from Anhui Electric Power Design Institute, Anhui Electric Power Research Institute and Donghua Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. A number of representatives from Anhui Energy Group Co., Ltd., Hefei Power Plant and Science and Technology Department of University of Science and Technology of China attended the appraisal meeting.


At the meeting, the experts listened carefully to the relevant work report of the project team, watched the experimental video, and conducted live on-the-spot questions and discussions on relevant technical issues.

The project comes from the cooperation R&D contract signed by the Department of Thermal Science and Energy Engineering of the University of Science and Technology of China and Anhui Energy Group Corporation. The prototype of the plasma pulverized coal ignition device for power station boilers belongs to the low-temperature plasma physics application technology. The product utilizes the high-temperature flame generated by the high-power plasma arc to instantly ignite the pulverized coal particles and release the volatiles in the specially designed pulverized coal burner. The primary air powder is amplified and burned into the boiler furnace under the action of the burner. To achieve plasma ignition.

Different from the existing magnetic arc-stabilized plasma generator technology, this project adopts cyclone-stabilized plasma generator technology, which has simple product structure, stable plasma arc and long electrode life, and igniter thermal efficiency. Many of the characteristics, the burner system used is also based on this technology and the establishment of mathematical models for optimization design, has passed the 1:1 industrial simulation test of 600MW generator set of Hefei Power Plant. The test results show that the technology used in this project has better ignition and combustion effects, and its performance meets the design requirements, meets the application conditions of the ignition and stable combustion of the 600MW unit boiler, and achieves the technical level of product application.

The results of this project are mainly applied to the ignition and steady combustion of pulverized coal boilers in large-scale coal-fired thermal power plants in the power generation industry. They can also be used for ignition and steady combustion of similar pulverized coal boilers in other industrial fields to replace traditional fuel ignition technology. Achieve energy conservation, emission reduction and significantly improve the economic benefits of running enterprises. In general, for new units of large units of more than 300 MW, the light diesel fuel consumed by starting one ignition is in the thousands of tons, worth more than 10 million yuan. The use of plasma ignition for one ignition requires only a considerable amount of coal, and the power consumed is only tens of thousands of degrees. The economic cost of coal consumption and power consumption is only one million yuan, and the cost is reduced by an order of magnitude. Once a new unit is started, all investment can be recovered. There are also savings. In addition, fuel is a scarce resource in the country. Today, the country strongly advocates energy conservation, emission reduction and green energy promotion. The application of this technology will have good economic benefits and universal social benefits. After careful discussion and review of relevant research materials, the Council has agreed that the performance and key technical indicators of the plasma generator developed by the project team have reached domestic leading and international advanced level; the developed plasma pulverized coal ignition system can be used in power stations. Boiler ignition and stable combustion can save a lot of fuel for the power plant, with significant economic and social benefits. It is recommended to speed up the promotion and application of this technology in boilers with different combustion modes, different coal types and different capacities, and form a series of products as soon as possible.
