According to Tianjin Lingang Industrial Area, Tianjin Bohai Chemical Group will invest 600,000 tons/year of propane-based propylene project in Bohai Chemical Park. At present, the project has entered the preparatory stage and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in September 2012.
The 600,000-ton/year propane propylene production project in Tianjin is currently the first domestic and largest single-produced propylene production plant in the world. With a total investment of 3.48 billion yuan, the project will introduce the world's most advanced propane dehydrogenation to propylene process to fill the gaps in the country. After the project is completed and put into production, it is estimated that the annual new sales revenue will be 6.1 billion yuan and the investment recovery period will be 5 years. Compared with the traditional route of propylene naphtha cracking, propylene propene has high efficiency, low energy consumption, low emissions, and has good economic competitiveness.
It is also understood that Suihua Group has invested in the establishment of Tianjin Suihua Petrochemical Co., Ltd. in early June this year for the construction and operation of a 600,000-ton/year propane-producing propylene key project.
