ABB Transformer serves the world's longest transmission project

On July 16th, the world's largest high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transformer supplied by ABB was transported from Ludvika, Sweden, to PortoVel-ho, Brazil by rail, road, waterway and other modes of transportation. ), used in the country's Rio-Madeira, the world's longest HVDC transmission line. The super-transmission line spans 2,500 kilometers and connects two new hydroelectric power stations in northwestern Brazil with Sao Paulo, the country's main economic hub. Upon completion, the project will become the longest HVDC transmission line in the world. The seven 600 kV large HVDC transformers provided by ABB are mainly used to regulate the current, ensuring efficient and reliable long-distance transmission.
