The forging machinery manufacturing industry in Hai'an County, which was founded in the 1950s, has a long history. At that time, Hai'an County had three county-owned enterprises: Hai'an Forging Machine Tool Plant, Hai'an Heavy Machinery Plant, and Hai'an Heavy Duty Shearer Plant. The scale is relatively small.

Since the reform and opening up to the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" period, it was the first development period of the forging machinery industry in Hai'an County. By 2001, there were 11 forging and pressing machinery manufacturing enterprises in the whole county, including 6 enterprises above designated size, with total assets of 93.35 million yuan. The annual output value is 100.80 million yuan, annual sales are 99.04 million yuan, taxes are 5.27 million yuan. The average production and sales rate of enterprises above designated size reached 98.25%.

The “15th Five-Year Plan” period and the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period are the rapid development period of the forging machinery industry in Hai'an County. By 2007, there were 118 forging machinery manufacturers in the county, mainly located in Libao, Chengdong, Hai'an, Huji, Xichang, Qutang and other towns, of which 28 were above-scale enterprises and had total assets of RMB 57.076 million. The annual output value is 12.5811 million yuan, annual sales is 125.269 million yuan, tax is 28.56 million yuan, and total profit is 38.36 million yuan.

During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, the forging machinery industry in Hai'an County continued to develop at a relatively rapid rate. Despite the slowdown in the development rate during the financial crisis in 2009, it could quickly recover after the crisis. At present, Hai'an County has a total of more than 200 forging machinery manufacturers, of which 87 are above-scale enterprises (according to the previous year's revenue of 5 million yuan), 12 are over a hundred million yuan, over 50 million are over 50, and have a total assets of 1 billion Diversified, annual sales of more than 5 billion yuan. From January to July 2011, Hai'an County forging machinery industry-wide enterprises achieved sales income of 248.7899 million yuan, an increase of 39.3% over the same period of last year; profit of 103.54 million yuan, an increase of 31.1% over the same period of last year; taxes 65.37 million yuan, an increase of 25.8% over the same period of last year %.

At present, Hai'an Forging Machinery has formed plate processing equipment (bending machine, leveling machine, bending machine, shearing machine, laser cutting machine), forging hammer (air hammer, program-controlled hydraulic hammer), press (hydraulic machine) and Forging automation auxiliary equipment (forging operation machine, loading and unloading machine) and other four major categories of more than 200 varieties.
