According to foreign media reports, the German inspection party claimed on April 18 that it is investigating the three current and former senior executives of the public company Porsche, one of whom is a member of the current management committee. The survey was part of the investigation of the Porsche emissions maneuver.
In a statement, the Stuttgart prosecution agency in Germany stated that about 160 prosecutors had searched Porsche in 10 locations in Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg.
The prosecutor also revealed that "the three suspects under investigation included a current member of the management committee and a company executive. In addition, one of the suspects is no longer working for Porsche."
Previously, German prosecutors started investigations of Porsche because of suspected fraud and fraudulent advertisements involving the cheating of diesel vehicle emission tests. The survey of three senior executives was only part of this. A Porsche spokesperson acknowledged the existence of the investigation but declined to give more specific information.
Earlier this year, German prosecutors expanded the scope of the investigation of the Porsche sister brand Audi. The 3.0-liter V-6 diesel engine developed by Audi was blasted with illegal equipment.
